Chapters

...

Words fail to paint the pictures in my mind tonight, but the story remains. It comes in starts and stops, flashes of smiles, rushes of realizations, dawnings and settings both real and surreal. As with most stories, they'd probably be more interesting if you knew the end point, if you could anticipate point B and wonder how I'd be getting there from here.

As it stands now, I'm on the verge of a whole new world of adventuring. One in which the schedule, the connections, the growth...is mine to make, and everything I have been given from this point on is mine to honor and care for. Books to read, language to continue building, friendships to treasure, working relationships to grow, children to inspire, and a country to explore.

The trainees will move back into the hotel and be sworn in as the newest Peace Corps group in Thailand. We'll meet with our counterparts for further training and part ways in a matter of days. This "old" home in Thailand will hold a place in all of our hearts as we journey to the "new" which will surely bring us all incredible experiences.

The posts have been fewer in the past few weeks for many reasons, but what I can say is that I am learning. I learn about Thailand as a country, Thais as people, myself as a volunteer, the world as a whole.  Some lessons are meant to be shared, others kept in safe and thoughtful reflection.

Keep reading as this adventure continues...
